The New Hampshire Supreme Court reversed a Personnel Appeals Board decision awarding overtime back pay to a reinstated state trooper under state law, ruling that “salary loss suffered” refers only to fixed compensation and not variable overtime payments, as overtime earnings are speculative and indeterminate unlike regular hourly pay for standard work schedules agreed upon in the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of State Police collective bargaining agreement.
