Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is entitled to summary judgment on a records management supervisor’s Family and Medical Leave Act retaliation claim, after she took FMLA leave to care for her father and was denied promotions from 2017 to 2021, where her supervisor’s remarks expressing FMLA animus weren’t direct evidence of discriminatory motivation, the promotion decisionmakers weren’t aware of her FMLA status, and no fact dispute on causation was raised, an Ohio federal court ruled.
