A federal district court denied the Saint Columba Catholic Parish’s motion to dismiss a terminated teacher’s claims of interference and retaliation in violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act and the California Family Rights Act. The teacher’s contract with Saint Columba was canceled after she was admitted to the hospital for two days with pre-term labor and she was terminated the same day that she submitted her request for FMLA leave for the birth of her child.
