The Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit vacated an NLRB bargaining order sought by the Alphabet Workers Union against Google as a joint employer due to the fact that the issue had since been rendered moot by subsequent events. While the NLRB found that Google met the criteria for being joint employers of a group of Austin-based Cognizant workers, the contract that was the basis for the ruling had since expired, and the subsequent contract between Google and Cognizant fundamentally altered the business relationship at stake in this case.
