Case: Labor Arbitration/Time Limits On Grievance Steps (Arb.)

Arbitrator William C. Heekin held that Teamster Local 667 failed to prove that the grievance should’ve been “deemed approved” when First Student Inc. violated Article 18 of the collective bargaining agreement concerning the grievance procedure by failing to provide a timely written answer at step 3 to a grievance challenging a mechanic’s discharge.
