Arbitrator Lise Gelernter sustained the grievance brought by Kendall Club Police Benevolent Association and the Jamestown Professional Firefighters Association that the City of Jamestown failed to pay its firefighters holiday pay for those who worked on Juneteenth 2024. The city argued that because all city government departments were open that day, the firefighters should only receive regular pay, as opposed to holiday pay.
