An Illinois federal district court denied the City of East St. Louis’ motion to dismiss the claims of a male police officer that he was suspended without pay for an extended period of time due to his sex, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ruling that the police officer had sufficiently pled that an adverse employment action had been taken against him, and that similarly situated female officers either weren’t suspended, or weren’t suspended for an extended amount of time.
