A Virginia federal district court refused to dismiss the claims of an astronomer emeritus that Associated Universities stripped him of his position and its benefits in retaliation for expressing concern about hiring practices, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ruling that as a former employee he was protected by Title VII, and that he sufficiently alleged that he engaged in protected activity along with a temporal causal connection between his activity and the adverse actions.
