A Texas federal district court denied Main Street Renewal and The Amherst Group’s motion for judgment as a matter of law on retaliation claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1981 brought by a White male former head baseball coach, finding sufficient evidence supported the jury’s verdict that defendants rescinded his job offer in retaliation for his discrimination lawsuit against his former employer, based on recorded HR calls stating the offer was withdrawn “because of” his lawsuit.
