A federal district court denied in part Amazon’s motion to dismiss, allowing a pro se Black operations manager’s claims of race-based disparate impact and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and hostile work environment under Title VII and New York State Human Rights Law to proceed, finding that he adequately alleged that Amazon’s performance improvement plan disproportionately impacted Black employees, that his termination occurred shortly after his discrimination complaints, and that he was assigned workloads five times greater than White colleagues because of his race.
