Case: Discrimination/Race Discrimination (S.D. Fla.)

A Florida federal district court granted summary judgment to Federal Express on the claim of a Black courier that she faced discrimination due to her race, and retaliatory discharge for complaining, in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1981, ruling that her claim was time-barred because she filed her complaint seven months after the six-month limitations period contained in her employment contract expired, which was found to be a legal and reasonable time period to directly file a Section 1981 claim.
