An Indiana federal district court granted summary judgment to Sortera Technologies on race discrimination and retaliation claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act brought by a Black shift lead who alleged he was terminated due to his race and in retaliation for complaining about unequal treatment, finding that the shift lead failed to show Sortera’s stated reason for termination—abrasive and insubordinate behavior—was pretextual, and could not establish a causal link between his complaints and his termination.
