A Maryland federal district court granted Erie Insurance Exchange’s motion to dismiss a race discrimination claim under 42 U.S.C. § 1981 brought by a Black female insurance agency owner who alleged discriminatory termination of her agency agreements and a pattern of racial discrimination, finding that her claims were time-barred under the four-year statute of limitations because she filed suit more than three months after the limitations period expired, as her claims accrued when she received the termination notice in May and not when it actually took effect in August.
