A Mississippi federal district court denied summary judgment to the City of Jackson on the claims of an age-protected White golf course superintendent that he wasn’t promoted to recreational manager due to his race and age, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, ruling that the city’s actions and shifting explanations regarding the superintendent’s application and the hiring of a different candidate suggested pretext for those explanations.
