A New York federal court partially denied summary judgment to the city of New York on the claims of a Black firefighter that he faced a racially hostile work environment, and was retaliated against for formally reporting it, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and state law, ruling that there was insufficient evidence of adverse action to show either discrimination or retaliation under Title VII, but that there was sufficient demonstration of a Title VII hostile work environment.
