An Illinois federal district court denied summary judgment to Foley & Lardner on the claims of a Muslim lawyer of Arab descent that her offer of employment was rescinded due to her race and religion, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and state law, ruling that there was evidence that the lawyer faced disparate treatment regarding her activism on the situation in Gaza compared to other associates who weren’t in her protected classes, and that there was evidence that the proffered reasons for rescinding her job offer were pretextual.
