A New York federal court denied TIAA Insurance’s motion to dismiss the claims of an employee with multiple chronic autoimmune conditions that she was unlawfully refused a medical exemption from a Covid-19 vaccine mandate, in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and state law, ruling that the employee’s exemption request from the mandate provided enough reasoning to suggest that such an accommodation would be required, yet TIAA didn’t consider it, despite her working mostly remote.
