A Michigan federal district court granted the Grosse Pointe Public School System’s motion for summary judgment on an injured terminated technical director’s claims of disability discrimination and failure to accommodate in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He never presented evidence that his lifting restrictions or five-hour workday precluded him from at least half of the jobs he was qualified to perform, and he testified that he could walk without assistance, bear weight on his injured ankle and lift objects in excess of 34 pounds if needed, the court said.
