A Puerto Rico federal district court denied JRC Consolidated, Inc. d/b/a Aloft Ponce Hotel & Casino’s motion to set aside a default judgment on claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Puerto Rico law brought by a security guard with medical conditions who alleged failure to provide reasonable accommodations, finding that although the hotel presented potentially meritorious defenses, its neglect in monitoring the case for almost two years did not constitute exceptional circumstances warranting the extraordinary relief requested.
