The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit affirmed summary judgment for Lakota Local School District on Americans with Disabilities Act disparate treatment and failure to accommodate claims and Family and Medical Leave Act claims by an art teacher with Usher syndrome causing vision and hearing loss who was denied paid leave for guide dog training, ruling that she failed to show disparate treatment, unpaid leave was a reasonable accommodation, and training didn’t qualify as a “personal illness” under sick leave policy.
