A Georgia federal district court granted summary judgment to Columbus Consolidated Government on the claims of a correctional officer that he was discharged due to his heart condition and in retaliation for taking extended medical leave, in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, ruling that the officer didn’t provide sufficient evidence that he could be considered to be qualified and able to perform the duties of his position, or that he engaged in protected activity, under the ADA.
