Carter Bank Beats Ex-IT Leader’s Age Bias, Retaliation Suit

A community bank with branches in Virginia and North Carolina secured a pre-trial win ending a lawsuit saying it discriminated against a former information technology department head because of his age.

The fired worker didn’t provide sufficient evidence for his bias claims against Carter Bank & Trust Inc. to survive summary judgment, the US District Court for the Western District of Virginia said. And he failed to tie his firing to his discrimination allegations, the court added.
