Capstone Logistics Hit With $3 Million Disability Bias Verdict

A former supervisor won his disability discrimination suit against Capstone Logistics LLC when a jury found the company liable Friday for retaliation and interference.

Richard McClinton says Capstone refused to make reasonable accommodations following his back surgery and eventually let him go when he asked for medical leave. He brought disability bias and retaliation claims in the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

The jury returned a verdict June 2. It found Capstone liable for $3,248,000 in compensatory and punitive damages, according to plaintiff’s counsel at Edwards & Edwards Attorneys & Mediators PLLC, who had no further ...
