Call to Probe Joint Employer Rule Previews Litigation to Come (1)

Progressive watchdog group Accountable.US wants the House Labor Committee to investigate NLRB Republican member William Emanuel’s potential conflicts of interest and whether they influenced the agency’s recently announced joint employer rule.

The move could be the opening salvo of Democrats’ and liberal groups’ fight to stop enactment of the National Labor Relations Board’s pro-employer policy. The new rule, set to take effect April 27, limits the circumstances in which a franchiser or parent company may be liable for labor law violations by a franchisee or other business partners.
