A California union representing health care workers June 29 withdrew a ballot measure to cap the salaries of hospital executives from the November 2016 ballot, to comply with a judge’s order.
The Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West was facing a June 24 order from Sacramento County Superior Court Judge David Brown to drop the Executive Compensation Act because its pursuit of the measure violated a two-year agreement to work cooperatively with hospital executives (Cal. Hosp. Ass’n v. SEIU United Healthcare Workers W., Cal. Super. Ct., 34-2016-00189567, minute order 6/24/16).
