A California initiative to raise the hourly minimum wage to $18 per hour will appear on the Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot, the secretary of state’s office said.
Proponents of the measure, led by tech entrepreneur and Blue Apron Inc. investor Joe Sanberg, gathered at least 623,212 valid signatures by Thursday to qualify the proposition for the next presidential election. Proponents missed the June 30 qualification cutoff to get the question before voters this fall.
