California Teachers, Parents Land Gender Policy Row Class Status

California teachers and parents challenging a policy barring educators from informing parents about their students’ gender identities can pursue their civil rights claims against state education officials as a class.

California State Board of Education members and the state’s public instruction superintendent argued that the lack of any statewide policy made class treatment inapposite.
