California Senate Sends Covid-19 Paid-Leave Bill to Governor

Millions of California workers would get two weeks of paid leave if they’re recovering from Covid-19, seeking a vaccination, or coping with other virus-related concerns, under a bill state lawmakers approved Thursday.

The state Senate voted 29-8 in favor of the measure, (S.B. 95), which would cover employees at workplaces with more than 25 workers, after the Assembly had signed off on it, 57-19, on Monday. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is expected to sign the legislation.
