California School District Pays $17,000 to Settle Age Bias Claim

The Washington Unified School District, located in Fresno, Calif., paid $17,000 to settle a federal charge of age discrimination, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Friday.

According to the EEOC, a 65-year-old math teacher was denied reasonable accommodation, subjected to different terms and conditions of employment, and finally discharged because of age and disability.
