The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a sexual harassment and retaliation suit against San Diego-based restaurant chains Swami’s Café and Honey’s Bistro, the agency said Wednesday.
Nine locations of the local chain allegedly allowed a class of young female employees—including some teenagers—to be subjected to sexual harassment by male supervisors and co-workers. Employees who complained were allegedly retaliated against or forced to quit their jobs, which violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, according to the agency.
