A New Mexico cabinetry company will pay $165,000 to settle a lawsuit for unlawful retaliation against employees who filed discrimination reports, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Monday.
According to the EEOC, the general manager of Third Bench Holdings complained that a company official discriminated against her based on what she believed to be her Hispanic national origin. After the investigation began, the general manager was demoted and her husband, who worked for the same company, was fired.
