The EEOC has filed a lawsuit against Third Bench Holdings and Las Cruces Cabinets, its subsidiary, in New Mexico federal court alleging that three employees were retaliated against after reporting harassment and discriminatory treatment.
An employee was demoted after she reported a company official discriminated against her for being Hispanic, which violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the agency said Wednesday. The employee’s husband, who corroborated the report, as well as the human resources director, who relayed the issue to upper management, were also fired, the EEOC said.
