Business Groups Urge Confirmation of GOP Commissioner for EEOC

Business trade groups urged Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, to confirm Keith Sonderling to the remaining Republican slot on the five-member panel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, according to a letter obtained by Bloomberg Law.

Sonderling’s confirmation “would bring a known and valuable asset to the Commission, as he is familiar with both the substance of the matters under EEOC’s jurisdiction, and how government operates,” the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Retail Federation, the Littler Workplace Policy Institute, and other groups said in their letter.
