The International Franchise Association and more than 60 other industry groups, including those representing convenience stores, grocers and car rental companies, are launching a lobbying campaign on Capitol Hill against a new rule expanding shared corporate liability for workers.
The rule would hold not only a franchise but its corporate brand responsible for labor violations. The lobbying effort is bringing together a cross section of business interests, including the US Chamber of Commerce and a who’s who of household brands.
