Business Coalition Urges DOL to Abandon Overtime Rule Update (1)

Businesses are pushing Labor Secretary Marty Walsh to abandon a planned update to federal overtime regulations, warning that the economy is unable to support the change amid supply chain disruptions and growing inflation.

“Many businesses are not well-positioned to absorb new labor costs associated with changes to the overtime pay regulations, and such changes would only exacerbate the difficulties businesses are currently facing,” said The Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity, a group of 93 businesses and management-side associations, in a letter to Walsh Wednesday.
