One of the largest Burger King franchisees allegedly fired a transgender worker because he refused to conform to gendered uniform standards, according to a new lawsuit.
Carrols LLC, which operates approximately 15% of all US Burger Kings, told Mondarius Stewart he couldn’t identify as both male and female, and fired him when he declined to identify with one gender, the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi said.
