Building Trades President Pledges to Fight GOP Moves to Limit Prevailing Wage, PLAs

AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Department President Mark Ayers April 4 vowed that unions will continue to block attempts to cut the prevailing wage and eliminate project labor agreements.

Ayers’ pledge was part of a keynote address delivered during the BCTD annual legislative conference. Pledging to combat all attacks on union rights, he told conference participants that members of the Republican party are seeking the “eradication of all unions from the American landscape” with efforts to pass legislation that would repeal union rights in multiple states and at the federal level.
