Brookings Report Calls for Lifelong Learning, Large Federal Role in Workforce Development

The federal government must play a key role in establishing a workforce development policy that embodies lifelong learning if the United States is to compete effectively in the global market and help workers attain economic security, according to a report released Dec. 5 by the Brookings Institution.
