A former Bright Horizons Children’s Centers LLC teacher with genetic heart deformities that increase her health risks from bacterial infections could convince a jury she was fired because she was perceived to be disabled, an Ohio state appeals court ruled.

Haley Anderson missed the mark in arguing her twin heart defects constitute an actual disability under state job discrimination law, the Ohio Court of Appeals said Tuesday.
