Boeing Must Face Bulk of Bias Claims by Black Muslim Employee

A long-time Boeing employee can go forward with most of her claims alleging she was denied promotions because she is a Black Muslim and harassed and retaliated against based on her race, religion, sex, and age, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled.

Vivian Martin’s March 2020 administrative bias charge gave Boeing sufficient notice she might sue over her allegedly hostile work environment, the court said.

Martin, who is in her 50s, alleged in the charge that she lacked opportunities because she was discriminated and retaliated against based on her protected characteristics, it said.
