Two Connecticut-based delivery workers allege that Bob’s Discount Furniture LLC, NEHDS Logistics LLC, and an affiliate are joint employers liable for federal and state wage violations in a new proposed class action filed in federal court in that state.
The companies improperly required delivery workers to pay for uniforms and cover the costs of any furniture damaged during deliveries, and the companies willfully misclassified them as independent contractors, according to the lawsuit filed June 19 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
