BNY Mellon Worker Says Anti-LGBTQ Religious View Got Her Fired

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. faces a lawsuit by a former employee who alleges she was fired as a college recruiter because she said publicly that her protestant religious beliefs prevented her from supporting the LGBTQ community outside the workplace.

Kristen Rupnik alleges BNY Mellon violated Title VII by intentionally discriminating against her and terminating her because of her Presbyterian position.

Alhough BNY Mellon asserted it fired her for unprofessional conduct stemming from an altercation at a hotel pool, she alleges this was a pretext.
