BNY Mellon Settles $1.9 Million DOL Pay Discrimination Probe (1)

The Department of Labor’s federal contractor watchdog reached a $1.9 million settlement with Bank of New York Mellon Corp. to end an investigation over alleged systemic pay discrimination against female, Black, and Hispanic job candidates.

The DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs found the bank paid 120 female workers, 47 Black workers, and 26 Hispanic workers in its Jersey City, N.J., office less than male and Asian colleagues in similar positions from December 2016 to December 2017, according to a settlement made public Monday.
