Bloomberg L.P. asked for a court’s final approval to settle a lawsuit alleging it required help desk employees to work off the clock and failed to pay them overtime.
There are 1,510 class members who would receive payouts. The $54.5 million settlement covers employees who worked as customer service agents beginning in 2008 in New York or 2011 in California, until June 2018. The help desk agents, who were called analytics desk representatives, assisted customers who use the company’s news and information software.
