A black attorney fired from the Washington, D.C., attorney general’s office can’t proceed to trial on whistleblower and race discrimination claims, the District of Columbia’s top court affirmed Thursday.
Nancy Johnson alleged her termination was connected to her warnings about errors in a new database used in the Child Support Services Division and to her complaints about a reorganization there, according to the court. She also said the reason given for her firing—her failure to support the reorganization—was a pretext for racial discrimination.
