Amazon.com Inc. and two subsidiaries subjected a Black gay manager with a compromised immune system to race, sexual orientation, and disability-based discrimination, and retaliated when he complained about the bias and the lack of Covid-19 safety measures at his Staten Island work site, a federal lawsuit in New York charges.
The abuse included ignoring Jamie Williams’ reports that he appeared to have contracted the virus and requiring him to come to work anyway, and requiring him to perform saliva-drug tests on other workers despite the pandemic and lack of CDC-advised safety measures, he says.
