Black Ex-UPS Worker Advances Most Claims in Discrimination Case

A former United Parcel Service Inc. worker can pursue allegations that the company discriminated against her because she’s a Black woman, but her equal pay and pregnancy accommodation claims fall short.

The ex-UPS worker sufficiently alleged state-law harassment and discrimination and retaliatory disparate treatment against public policy, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. She lacked details to support allegations that the delivery company didn’t pay her fairly or accommodate her breastfeeding needs, but can amend her complaint, the Monday order said.
