Amherst College and a Black lacrosse coach who said the school fraudulently lured him away from a historically Black university to help solve the culture of racism and misogyny rooted in Amherst men’s lacrosse team resolved his discrimination lawsuit, according to Massachusetts federal court records and the parties.
Rashad Devoe, Amherst, and other defendants filed a stipulation Thursday with the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts asking that the Aug. 13 lawsuit, which also alleged retaliation, be dismissed “with prejudice.”
The parties issued a joint press release Jan. 12 announcing that the case had been resolved.
