Bisexual Equinox Worker in Hollywood to Get Sex Harassment Trial

Equinox Holdings Inc. must face trial on claims that a bisexual front desk clerk at a West Hollywood gym was sexually harassed by his gay manager because a jury could find the alleged abuse targeted the worker’s sexual orientation, the California Court of Appeal ruled.

A jury could also find manager Thomas Hands’ habit of calling Gavin Sykes “sir,” “mister,” “cutie,” and “rock star” occurred often enough over Sykes’ four months on the job to be pervasive under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act, the court said Sept. 11.
