Binghamton University Must Defend Ex-Professor’s Sex Bias Suit

Binghamton University can’t escape a sex discrimination and retaliation lawsuit brought by an art professor who said she was forced to retire because the university refused to transfer her away from her alleged abuser.

Karen Barzman plausibly alleged that the university’s response to her numerous efforts to inform administrators about colleague John Tagg’s allegedly abusive behavior and to her requests to transfer was “clearly unreasonable,” the US District Court for the Northern District of New York ruled March 3.
